Please explain about the MBA entrance examinations held in India?- 28-Aug-2008
CAT (Common Admission Test):
This is an entrance exam for studies at IIM, which is called as Indian Institute of Management. This exam is considered as the most difficult exam in India. It is usually conducted in the month of November / December.
XAT (Xavier Institute Admission Test):
This examination is for the Management Studies of the Xavier Institute of Management. This exam also has tough competition. A notification concerning this exam will be released in the month of September. Should apply before December. Students scoring below 50% in degree can also apply. This result is eligible for all the 41 Xavier Educational institutions meant for MBA studies. This result is accepted by the Institute for Financial Management and Research, Liba and MOB Vaishnava College at Chennai. This examination is conducted at 31 places across India.
The session consists of an objective type examination for 2 1/2 hrs, followed by an English Essay writing test.
MAT (Management Aptitude Test):
All India Management Association conducts this examination. This is considered as a National level entrance exam. This is usually conducted 4 times in a year. Questions are framed from Mathematics, Analytical Skill, Reasoning and General Knowledge.
IGNOU Open MAT:
This is an entrance examination for MBA studies conducted by the famous Indira Gandhi Open University. This exam is conducted 2 times in a year.
